Early Life
Lauren Morelli was born on July 22, 1982 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States.
She attended Winchester Thurston School and also studied dance at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City.
Career
Morelli started up with a career in dance before she ended up with a back injury.
She was then inspired by a college professor to pursue a career in acting.
She began writing small blog pieces and stories before she eventually got her first professional writing position on the 2013 Netflix series Orange is the New Black.
She became the lead writer for two episodes of the first season of Orange is the New Black, “WAC-Pack” and “Tall Men With Feelings”.
She also worked as a playwright and her short play “Roach & Rat” was featured in Lesser America’s production of Just Right Just Now in Mew York.
